WASHINGTON DC – August 18, 2025: The Command Purpose Foundation is proud to spotlight Board Member Heather Wells, Founder and CEO of WEN2K, Associate Director at TF-7294, and a seasoned national security leader with more than 30 years of service in the U.S. Army and the Joint Special Operations Community.
Heather enlisted in the U.S. Army as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst on April 12, 1992, and retired as the JSOC J2 Intelligence Sergeant Major on April 13, 2023. Her distinguished career was defined by operational excellence, leadership under pressure, and an unwavering commitment to mission success.
Heather was drawn to Command Purpose because of its deeply resonant mission: “Transitioning from the military or corporate America can be uniquely challenging for anyone, and oftentimes more so for women. Command Purpose fills this unique gap as they navigate career and life changes confidently,” she shared.
When asked about her most meaningful experience with CP, she didn’t hesitate: “Without a doubt, my favorite moment was attending the Project Raha Benefit Auction in NYC. There is nothing more powerful than a room filled with national security professionals supporting this deeply meaningful event.”
As for the woman veteran she would most like to invite to dinner? Sarah Emma Edmonds. “During the Civil War, she enlisted in the Union Army as Franklin Flint Thompson, serving as a field nurse and a spy using various disguises. She participated in key battles, including Antietam, before illness forced her to leave the army to protect her identity. Edmonds later resumed nursing as a woman and published a memoir in 1865.”
