Join Command Purpose for our inaugural book club meeting! The goal of our book club is to read books that address issues facing the veteran women community and discuss how we can navigate through them to become our most authentic selves and align with our purpose in life after the military.
Summary: This book explores the current climate of toxic achievement culture and the increasing pressure teenagers feel to excel in all areas of their lives–academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities–at the expense of their mental health and well-being. It explores the problem and offers practical, actionable solutions we can take to help teenagers understand they matter beyond the achievements on their college application forms.
Why This Book? Never Enough is focused on the toxic achievement culture facing teenagers, however, the reality is that toxic achievement culture does not end after one enters college. For many high-achieving veteran women, it can feel like their resume defines them. When the uniform comes off, it can be challenging for veteran women to see the inherent value they have and will bring to whatever they choose to do next. This book helps reframe what it means to “matter and provides practical and actionable solutions to combat toxic achievement culture and find value, purpose, and meaning for your life that goes beyond an impressive list of credentials.

The Command Purpose Foundation (CPF) is a values-based organization grounded in trust, respect, and courage; trust through offering a brave space, respect by recognizing each journey and story is unique, and courage to ask ourselves hard questions.
